ABOUT
MICHAEL PLISKIN
Michael Pliskin began his career as a photojournalist with the Poughkeepsie Journal in New York’s Hudson Valley when he was still in high school.
After getting his BFA degree in Photography and Design from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) his work included managing a photography studio in Beverly Hills, CA; being a Technical Correspondent and Technical Advisor for Nikon at the dawn of the digital age; and working for a major aerospace company.
His aviation photography has been published in corporate annual reports, books, and aerospace and defense magazines in the United States and Europe. He photographed major computer industry events for worldwide publications. CDs and DVDs of live music and comedy performances have Michael’s photos on the covers and in the insert booklets.
Michael has also photographed for major hotels and restaurants for their marketing collateral, websites and in recipe books. For over 27 years, one of Michael’s great joys in life has been to volunteer his time and expertise to photograph for the Special Olympics at competitions and fundraising events.
Clients and subjects have included: Aviation Week, Flight International/Flight Global, United Airline Services, Crowne Plaza Hotels, Leonard Cohen, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Cheech Marin, and many more.
